Ryan Sweeney, Follow Up

As we discussed in the previous post, if Mr. Sweeney does not change his running technique he probably will suffer new legs injuries.
As you can see in the following pics from before and after surgery, his technique did not change at all.

In April 20 of 2011 was published by the media that Mr. Sweeney is currently suffering from "tightness in his hamstring".
If the system continuos treating only the player's symptoms and not the primary causes of the injuries, more athletes will keep loosing their future.

  1. There are many cases of athletes doing things the wrong way and some do not have recurring issues with injuries. Yes, it would be best if Sweeney works with a running coach to correct this, just as Jered Weaver should correct throwing against his body (his front [left] leg lands too far to the right), and there are many more cases of this with pro, college and HS pitchers. That will usually result in arm issues. You'd think the Major Leaguers esp would invest the money in a coach to work with in the off-season to correct this and Sweeney likewise would be wise to hire a running coach because it's in his own self interest.

  2. One potential cause of Eric's (and others) chronic injury experience is a muscle imbalance which has historically been difficult to measure. At Sonostics we are now demonstrating to elite athletes, trainers, and PTs how to convert muscle vibration to effort in order to calculate imbalance and better target training or rehab. I invite you to check it out.
